About Me
I'm Joanna, 18, from Germany — and when I'm not here, I'm usually in Tenerife.
Painting has always been mine. There's no beginning I could point to; it was simply always there. This year I found my own style and have been building on it piece by piece ever since.
I prefer working traditionally, mostly with pencil and marker. Alongside that, I'm constantly trying new things — different materials, different techniques, sometimes things that have nothing to do with painting at all. I rarely stick with one thing for long, and that's exactly what I love about it.
Most of the time I start with a rough idea, or no idea at all. I don't think about whether it will turn out well or whether anyone will like it — I just let my hand do its thing. That's exactly when my best pictures come to life. Painting is the moment when my mind, which otherwise runs 24/7, finally switches off. It gives me calm and stability.
What keeps coming up lately: colour, because I'm searching for colour in my own life. Combined with the same eyes, paired with full lips. And things that don't exist anywhere else. I build my own little world, where nothing has to make sense. It simply is what it is — made with a lot of love and joy.
What you see in it is up to you. Whether deep meaning or just something cool on the wall — both are right.
My dream is to live from my art and to see as much of the world as possible along the way.
